Is the recommended risk still 0.6?

Really appreciate that!

Thank you, that is helpful. I sort of remembered some of it. I was just surprised not to see the first post updated. It was nice to have those as a go to place to quickly double check if there is a need to adjust risk levels etc.

just wanted to see if there is a reason you have not posted about the version 3.0
Most of all, are there any changes to the settings, recommended risk, etc. Just try to figure out, if I can just load the settings from 2.1 or if I should start from scratch. Just checking, since changing the symbols with the post-fix is such a  pain.

VPS / Re: AWS vs. Google VPS vs. BeeksFX

Jimmy is exactly right. I am still running a few other EAs as well and the AWS servers seem like a good solution. The challenge is, that depending on how I change the number of platforms and the individual EAs, I may need to change VPS configuration at some point. If it were completely clear how mql5 determines that one could be a bit smarter about how to change the VPS trying to avoid the loss of licenses. Right now I am o.k., but I figured it would be good to know what I am doing before I start shifting everything.

Hi guys,
would any of you know how mql5 determines if the EA is on a new computer? I would just like to understand before I move my EAs to AWS or Google. Something technical I can ask AWS and Google to clarify if adjustments to the server resources or the contract might lead to the loss of a license.

@YoG12: hm, I guess I have to look at this again. It seemed to me, more like $65 if I pre-pay but maybe I need to double check. If it were not for the stupid mql5 licensing system, I would just jump on one and try it out but I cannot afford to keep losing licenses.

VPS / AWS vs. Google VPS vs. BeeksFX
« on: April 22, 2020, 04:46:44 PM »
Hi guys,

since I had the unfortunate experience of my BeeksFX VPS being turned off without pre-warning because my sponsoring broker apparently stopped paying for it (without letting me know), I am considering just changing away from BeeksFX. Part of the reason is, I would like to have more processing power so the EAs can handle peek trading times without increasing my cost massivly. So I was hoping some of you might have some experience with AWS, the Google VPS, the Microsoft VPS other offers. It seems to me, that some trading results were driven by overloading my VPS CPUs during times when several EAs are trading, esp. the scalpers I am guessing. To be honest, whenever I go to the mql5 market place the BeeksFX tool POM restarts my MT4 terminal, so I actually have to turn the tool off to get there.

Any input is very welcome. Especially the AWS and Google offerings seem to be so fast moving that I thought I would try to get current opinions.

Will the old version still work if I don't want to upgrade it on my VPS?

I have never upgraded before and whenever I press the "market" tab on MT4 the terminal just shuts down. So I don't know why this is happening, besides I don't want to trade any GBP before this election next week or over Chritmas/New year so maybe I can just update halfway through January? Is this an option???

It's really annoying. On my desktop MT4 can open the "market" tab on my MT4 it is just on my VPS. So I have to discover what is the problem. But it's definitely not the EA it is obviously something with my VPS.

If you are using BeeksFX as VPS provider and POM, it might just be too long a delay and the POM tool thinks the MT4 is frozen. That is what happened to me. Taking it of the POM and being a little patient allowed me to get to the market place. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the continued improvements. I am very impressed by how you keep working on the EAs you have (and the results I have so far)

Good news

The version 1.1 will be published very soon. I'm using already this version in the main signal of the EA, so, until the publication, the trades of the signal can differ a bit from you current trades.

MT5 backtest with realt tick:

These are the improvements:

- a new internal filter condition has removed some non profitable setups, about 7% of the old setups. This increase the profit factor significantly.

- some of the best symbols also launch some trades using the m15 timeframe. As always, is handled from only one m5 chart. I expect more improvements in this timeframe in future versions.

- the selection of pairs has been reviewed using metatrader 5 with real ticks. I have been able finally to use the 'real ticks' option during the backtest.

- in the backtest, you can see less symbols than the version 1.0, this is because some pairs has shown not enough profitable when bactkest with 'real ticks' has been used. This don't mean that this pairs will be removed definetely, I will explain later.

- the feature of connect to the smartforexexpert for see if some symbols are disabled in this moment for some reason, has been expanded with the option of apply different size of the trades in the selected symbols. This is because I think is better use some pairs at lower size instead of not use them, in this way, we can keep the real time supevision of the performance of these pairs, and this helps to improve the EA. Then for example, the mentioned removed pairs in the current backtest, probably will be included in the pairlist, but these pairs will have the size affected for the moment, for example x 0.2

- I have a big hope that my future plans of add the historical calendar to the backtest, will increase the performance significantly in general, so, some pairs that at this moment have problems, can be attractive again.

- The day of the tripple swap is detected automatically for if some broker don't apply this on wednesday night.

SFE Attractor took a hit from the Gold trades's funny that I always seem to miss the profitable trades and not miss the losing ones... ???

That's just life I guess. :P
you are not alone with that problem, unfortunately  ;)
Thank you for your ongoing updates and thoughts around the EAs. Really helpful for me. I continue to run the combination of Attractor, Stealth, and Forex Cyborg and they seem to work nicely together. Unfortunately, it is a messy account due to its history. So a bit hard to share.

Side question: I am still kind of new to the mql5 concept. If I decided to move all my accounts to a new VPS or dedicated server, I would have to use an additional license, right?

About this missing pending orders, I don't have enough information, but I would check the next:
- search old or wait for new pending orders, and confirm that pending orders are settled in this account without problems. Is very rare but in some brokers / servers there are some kind of limitations with pending orders, for example, fails depending of the date of the expiration. I repeat, is very rare, but first is be sure of this.
- if there isn't a problem with the pending orders, or the brokers server has been disconnected, or the mt4 platform has been frozen, or internet connection... has to be a problem not related with the EA because the same execution mechanic is working for years without problems.
I guess it must have been something about the MT4. I will check again, since that was after the update to 1.1. Before that I had orders going through just fine. Thank you for your thoughts.
