Forex Calendar
« on: August 24, 2019, 01:48:41 PM »
I noticed that the most dangerous days to trade, seems the days when there are holidays in one of the main places, because this lack of liquidity has made very weird movements sometimes. For example the flash crash of the AUD/JPY currencies on January 3th this year can be related with this.

I add this to my queue of jobs, but if some user can help me explaining a but the calendar of Australia or Japan or posting a resource to get the information, will be a great help. I'm mainly interested in these calendars because the most sensible EA for this issue is probably the SFE Night Scalper, then, these sessions are the two most involucred.

I'm also working in get the big events in real time, like the interest rate decisions. Proably EAs like the night scalper is also better to disconnect in these events.

Would the calendar at Forex Factory be enough? (https://www.forexfactory.com/calendar.php)

For get the calendar information in a 'easy' way, I need to find an API (app.programming interface).
Seems here there is an api of the fxstreet calendar.... http://api.fxstreet.com/Calendar
I will try.   The calendar:  https://www.fxstreet.com/economic-calendar

I want to use an interface like the previous for the economical events, but for the common holidays calendar, I want to know if in Japan there is a week like 'christmas' or any day/week which the markets are closed. Same in Australia. This common dates, I can include in the code itself, without the need to get data in real time.

I do remember that over summer last year in NZ they used to have interest decisions at the exact time as market is closed for a few minutes. I am not sure if they are still doing this, I actually think that the RBNZ have moved their decisions to later in the day because it was so illiquid at the time. Something to look for in night scalpers.
